
They cut it out of the trees that were already here
Tom and BJ Hoover and their two sons, Dusty and Josh, felled the timber standing on the property and peeled every log by hand. What could be milled on site was milled on site — the siding, the trim, the doors, and the bar that still stands in the saloon.
It took about eight years to get the lodge and the saloon liveable, working only in the summers, because at this elevation there are no other summers to work in.
